About Me

I am Dipesh Dulal - an educator and blogger writing on the topics of pedagogy, learning, parenting, organic living, minimalism, and other topics - at the juncture of education and sustainability.

Since beginning my teaching career in 2007 in Kathmandu, I have been engaged in designing and executing collaborative projects in environmental education and international school partnerships premised on curricular exchanges and beyond. In 2014, local and international school partnerships initiatives I coordinated at Chelsea International Academy were recognized under the International School Award framework of the British Council.

My academic journey has taken me from Nepal to Norway and Finland. From 2014 to 2017, I completed a Master’s degree in Multicultural and International Education at Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences, where I examined education within diverse and multicultural contexts. Later, from 2021 to 2023, I pursued further studies in Pedagogy and Teaching for Sustainability at University of Eastern Finland, conducting research on WWOOFers’ embodied learning experiences and their implications in the global agenda of Education for Sustainability (EfS). Living and studying in the Nordic countries deepened my engagement with the concept of Bildung and strengthened my interest in understanding how education shapes civic, ecological, cultural, and moral responsibility.

As a father of two and a lifelong learner, I approach education not only through formal institutions, but also through the agency of parents and local community, moreover - 'places' and 'spaces' as constructs of informed transformative projects. I approach digital spaces as constructive spaces of intellectual exchanges and learning opportunities. In my case, I have chosen personal blog, pedagogynotes.com, personal youtube channel and LinkedIn as spaces of networking and coconstructing ideas on education, and sustainable societal transformation.

In my personal blog (this website), I write about my subjective reflections and views on any topics related to sustainability, intercultural learning, placemaking, human geography, and the broader question of how education can contribute to meaningful societal transformation. I may even write a poem, story, or perhaps a book review.

In pedagogynotes.com, I write elaboratively on thoretical and empirical aspects of pedagogy, lifelong learning, informal learning, and education as general area of learning. The website has been developing as resource for teachers and students from across the globe.

I am particularly interested in how individuals and institutions can cultivate depth, responsibility, and ecological awareness in a time of distraction and fragmentation.
